Tales of an aspiring deductionist

 Hot reading, as I define it is a mentalist technique that relies on information collected mid-reading by facila expreassions and such to get a reading. This technique is very facinating and I find it very useful in everyday life. As I've mentioned there is a friend of mine that has very apparent and readable body language. So I started to conduct body language analysis and simple hot reading like guessing the colour they're thinking of. There was this one time where she told me that her favourite colour was pink and then after I guessed pink and then guessed red. (NOTE: people always think about their favourite colour and then a general colour (red blue yellow or green)). Hot reading isn't really for deductionists because it's a mentalist thing. I've been acting and thinking like a mentalist for the past few weeks and it's pretty nice. I've been conducting more hot and cold readings. I often see when people are lying and act on it.  Mentalism. A skill thet requires trained intuition and mastery in body-language and showmanship, attention to detail and a deep knowledge psichology. I'm at the point of being good at the attention to detail part and I just have to remember to. I've been a decently accurate deductionist, with around 60% accuracy with a bit of lee-way on either side. In fact, I've been a deductionist for roughly half a year. My logic and observation skills are pretty solid. I understand psichology because I am A: a human (pretty self-explanatory) and B: not a sociopath (again self-explanatory). My body-language skills I use often in everyday life, so I think I"ve become pretty good at that. I'm currently on the side of (sherlockian) deductionist, but I want to adventure into the more "The Mentalist" side of things. It is just a particular skill that I want to get good at.  Mentalism is a very close thing to deduction, but with a twist of showmanship. I've explained some aspects of it, but today I will give you a bigger picture. This mentalism "project" is going to be a series. A series of me explaining this particular form of showmanship. My dear friend  the science of deduction blogpost . So, mentalism is very close to deduction, but how close? It is a "style" of deduction that is using your intuition to get the info you're looking for. It also requires a skill to understanding psychology and a large knowledge in body language. It also requires cold reading skills and many more skills to be able to at least appear mentally intelligent. This is also highly connected with being a fake spiritualist and pretending to talk to the dead. In my case I'll just try and be like Patrick Jane.
